Hi, friends. It’s been a while since the last post. One of the things I’ve been working on is personal – training for the Long Beach Half-Marathon!
One of my clients is interested in streamlining their communications and website. They’ve got a domain name all set-up, which is fantastic. However, as we’ve dug deeper together, we’ve realized that the person who first registered the domain name is no longer “contact-able.” So we’ve tried to contact the company who is the registrant. We’re now awaiting the company’s reply to our request for an authorization code to transfer the domain name. (It’s been paid for through early 2010.)
Unfortunately, this is taking a lot more work than it should have. On the brightside, I had created a new blog and email address for them to use, but it doesn’t have their domain name (which I think is very important).
Today’s lesson: There should be a back-up plan for every small group regarding transfer of domain names.
